PSI Notes: Part Two
When visiting a psychic, the best definer of whether or not you are in the right place is the “ego barometer.” If the psychic you visit seems egotistical, get out. This is not the place for you. Go somewhere softer. By softer, I mean that, as your intuition develops, you may notice that certain people and places feel hard, due to tension in your body resulting from your intuitive senses, or a person or place may feel softer, due to your body being more relaxed resulting from your intuitive senses.
I will give you some examples of some of my own visits with psychics over the years. (Yes, psychics get readings from other psychics.) These examples will illustrate the “ego” talking, rather than the spirit talking.
From the ego comes a stern, almost bullying tone of voice. Spirit speaks with confidence, but ego speaks abrasively.
“Hun, you’re lazy. You don’t want to work.”
This statement came from my first visit with a psychic when I was just nineteen. Since I’d spent my childhood having psychic experiences, I was curious about other psychics. She was dead wrong. I am a workaholic who rarely takes a break. I graduated from high school two years early, after having taken a two year break from high school, and entered college when I was sixteen. This is a highly motivated individual who obviously doesn’t mind working. I do not agree with psychics using this sort of language with clients. She was downright rude in her delivery.
“You’re going to have a baby.”
This remark was from a psychic I visited while in my early twenties. My response was, “I had a hysterectomy when I was nineteen. I can’t possibly have a baby. Ever.”
The psychic quickly returned, “Well, I don’t mean a baby baby. I mean a puppy.”
It was also impossible for me to have a pet of any kind. I lived in an apartment that did not allow pets. In fact, I would not have a pet until I was thirty-five and living in a house. But whether or not she was right or wrong isn’t the point. The point is her unwillingness to admit when she was wrong, or having a disconnected psychic day.
The worst psychic I visited gave me an immediate negative feeling. But I was curious, so I suffered through the reading. She was waaaay off the entire time, but she spoke with authority, as if I better not disagree with her. She knew all, and that was that. Her ego was so overbearing I could not like her in any way. When you encounter this sort of psychic, you will know for sure, because your gut feelings will be attuned to the negative energy and you will feel uncomfortable from beginning to end.
“You will marry someone who works with his hands.”
This came from yet another psychic I visited in my early twenties. At the time, I had no knowledge of tarot, so I bought into this remark. However, when I began learning tarot, after years of study, I realized why this woman told me that. It was a particular card in my spread that she was reading as absolute. I teach a different method of tarot. Never read tarot cards as an absolute. The cards are a focal point, nothing more. You read the energies of the cards, not the rote teaching of the cards. The energy is the key.
In the next blog article, I will help you to understand how a psychic receives knowledge. This will dispell some myths, misconceptions, and answer the naysayers.
Enjoy the Path.
